Oh boy. Today was nuts at work (I work at Chilis by the way). I have never seen so many children in the restaurant at one time. I kid you not, at least 100 different children were in this store in the time between 12pm and 2 pm. So what's the problem?
Nothing really, well not for the 95 of those kids.
However, there are always those kids. Yes, those kids. The ones who range from 5 months to 2 years old and the "very responsible" parents decide to take them out to lunch/dinner. The kids who DO NOT shut up, or stop running around the restaurant. There was one baby today at a table on one side of the restaurant screaming bloody murder and I could hear every part of it while setting up food in the kitchen. I also had my own problem child at a table who threw everything from the table onto the floor. Now, being the amazing waiter I am, I said politely "Oh we don't throw those things on the floor silly." To which the parents say.
Oh how cute of her.
Yeah, don't worry. I don't have ANY problem stopping what I am doing in order to pick up the 30 coasters your kid has decided to throw on the ground. That is definitely my responsibility. Oh wait, its not. They're YOUR kids people.
Why is it that most parents don't clean up after their kids throw the sugars all over the table, spill all of their cheerios on the ground, or even if they decide that milk looks better outside of the cup. It is always a small giggle and a "Oh well."
I am just waiting for the day when someone's kid is running around the restaurant and runs into me as I am carrying a tray of food and I spill it on the ground. That will be fun

Shawne Merriman
In case you didnt know, Im a HUGE San Diego Chargers fan. Probably the biggest one you know. Or even the biggest one you dont know. All of my friends probably believe this as well, seeing as how im always wearing something to do with the chargers and my car even has a chargers license plate and emblem on it.
Now, about Shawne Merriman.
If you hadnt heard, he has two torn ligaments in his knee and has decided TO PLAY this year. Despite the words of 5, yes five, doctors to sit out this year and get surgery he has decided to play. The big issue is the fact that if Shawne takes even the slightest damage to his knee while playing, it could end his career. Hes only 24 years old, that could possibly be 7+ years of football down the drain.
Whats my beef? Well, he is one of our top defensive players and he brings a great emotional aspect to the team. No one can deny that, but as a fan of the GAME of football and not just my team, I want him to sit out and get healthy. It would be terrible and gut wrenching to see a truck come out to the field and carry off Merriman during a game.
Ive been reading other Chargers fans thoughts and they are all FOR the fact that he wants to play. I have no idea why... I understand that at any given time a player could be hit awkwardly and his season or career done. But when it is now etched in your mind that one small hit could end your career, dont you think Merriman might be playing it safe when he is out on the field? And what about the opponents? Now when they play the Chargers they will most likely game plan towards the side Merriman is on, thinking that he most likely has lost a step or two when covering a running back or tight end out in the flats.
In the end I think its a dumb decision on his part. Oh well.

Cal State Fullerton Parking
This shit pisses me off. This school is a joke. I understand that this school is heavily populated but it's starting to get out of hand.
Now, Monday was the first day of school so I expected it to be crowded and I arrived at roughly 10:45 am so yeah. However, the last 2 years I had arrived around that time and there would at least be parking in the far lot (Lot A). I always parked there cause I knew people hated parking there and I would always be able to find a spot. Well, back to Monday, Cami and I had to park in a DIRT LOT across the street from the school. Yes, a DIRT LOT. How ghetto. Oh but wait, isnt that why we paid 144 dollars for a school parking permit?
So anyway, that isn't the bad part. TODAY Cami and I started our carpooling/gym adventure and we got onto the freeway at roughly 9:05 am. We arrived to school at 9:30 am thinking "Hey, well actually get a close spot or at least in the normal spot in Lot A we usually do."
Ha.
Ha ha
Funny joke. Again we were met with big lines and crowded lots and the almost too familiar dirt lot right in front of us. However we did see that there was 1 empty row in Lot A (the last row before the dirt lot mind you...) and thanks to the lovely cops who made sure we were turning the right way even though we were in a right turn lane we grabbed a spot.
Thank goodness Cami and I got lockers at the gym. At least there was some success.
